South Carolina Athletes Excel at World Transplant Games

Two transplant recipients from South Carolina and members of Team USA, Dwayne Lytle and Amy Saylors, made very impressive showings during the World Transplant Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

Dwayne, a kidney recipient and track athlete who resides in Inman, S.C., won a Gold Medal in the 4x1 100 Meter Relay and a Bronze Medal in the 100 Meter.

Amy, a swim instructor in Lancaster, S.C., who has had a kidney transplant and two pancreas transplants, earned 5th Place in the 50 Meter Backstroke, 6th Place in the 50 Meter Freestyle and 7th Place in the B Team Freestyle Relay.

Congrats to Dwayne and Amy. They are vital proof of the life-saving and life-changing benefits of transplantation.
