April Is Donate Life Month in S.C.

Resolutions, introduced on April 14, 2010, in the South Carolina House and Senate designating April 2010 as Donate Life Month, heightened awareness about the need for more people to help save lives by registering their consent to be donors on www.Every11Minutes.org – the South Carolina Organ and Tissue Donor Registry.

Speakers advocating donation during a press conference at the Columbia, S.C. Statehouse included Representative Rex Rice, Senator Hugh Leatherman, Sr., LifePoint President and CEO Nancy A. Kay, as well as Ed Billings whose deceased son Thad was an organ donor.

Donation supporters in attendance included organ and tissue donor families and transplant recipients, along with employees representing LifePoint.
