Position Description

Communication Center Donation Coordinator (DC) Position :: Charleston Office

LifePoint, Inc. (SC Organ and Tissue Donation Program) is seeking a full-time Donation Coordinator (DC). The Donation Coordinator (DC) position is an exciting, unique and pivotal role in the world of healthcare, offering the qualified individual a challenging work life with a primary focus on extending lives. During assigned hours the DC handles all incoming referral calls, evaluates potential tissue donors, supports grieving families, obtains informed consent for tissue and eye donation and coordinates the logistics of organ, tissue and eye recovery. The DC is also responsible for data collections, data entry of all referral and tissue donor records.

Qualifications: Paramedic, LPN, RN or Bachelor’s Degree preferred; strong consideration will be given to candidates who have significant relevant experience. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in the medical field, health sciences, mental health or counseling with experience in crisis intervention and/or grief counseling. Excellent telephone communications skills. An ability to communicate with potential donor families in crisis in a sensitive and professional manner. Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, flexibility and a positive attitude is necessary. Ability to work twelve (12) hour shifts since LifePoint is a 24/7 operation. This is a Night Shift Position. Good pay and excellent benefits package.
